Blood Tests

Routine Blood Tests

Please only request a blood test appointment if it has been requested by the surgery. You can have the blood test at the Practice or local hospital:

  • At the Practice – please contact our Reception Team to book your appointment
  • At local hospital – please book online with the Phlebotomy Service, or call them on 02476 153546 12-6pm, Monday to Friday.
    • IMPORTANT: you must take a print-out of your blood test request with you, please collect this from Reception

Some Pharmacies also offer a blood test service, please contact them directly for more information.

Hepatitis C NHS Blood Test

With the advancement in treatment for hepatitis C now achieving a >95% cure rate the NHS has launched a project to identify and cure patients living with the disease. This viral infection is often symptomless and without testing and treatment it can cause damage including liver failure and liver cancer.

Blood Test Results

Once you have had your blood test, please return and complete an online medication review if requested to via text. We will only contact you if there are any abnormalities found. You can view your results via online access.


Referrals

In certain situations your GP or nurse will need to refer you to other service providers. This may include community or hospital teams. They will inform you when this is necessary. The various teams we refer to, manage this process differently. Click here to find out more


Hospital tests

If you had your test at Hospital, please contact the relevant Hospital Department. Please note that we do not have access to tests requested by the hospital teams.
