Training practice
In addition to providing the best possible care to our patients, the practice has a strong focus on education. We train new doctors at both undergraduate and post graduate level.
Our patients play a key part in this education process by giving their consent to allow the undergraduate medical students to have a real experience in general practice and by establishing good relationships with our GP Registrar post graduate doctors.
Students from Warwick Medical School have the benefit of experiencing teaching by the majority of the practice GPs.
The same applies to our Registrars, although Dr Blunt is the Practice’s designated trainer.
Our educational commitment is something that the whole team is extremely proud of. This commitment is borne out by the fact that four of our current partners undertook part of their training with the practice.
Evidence shows that being a training practice leads to better patient outcomes, improved clinical practice and better organisational resilience.
GP net earnings
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (i.e. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GPs working in Clarendon Lodge Medical Practice in the last financial year was £55,859 before tax and National Insurance.
This is for 1 full time GP, 9 part time GPs and 0 locum GPs who worked in the practice for longer than six months.
