Appointments
Who do I see?
Routine Appointments (excluding Nurse appointments)
We use a system called Total Triage, where every request is reviewed first by a clinician. You’ll be asked to fill out a short form which is submitted to our GP Team to review. If you submit a total triage form within working hours, we will review the information on the same day and either arrange a same day contact for you or respond via email with a plan.
If you are not able to submit the form online, please call our Reception Team and they will complete the form on your behalf.
Nurse Appointments
For an appointment with a member of our Nursing Team, please call Reception on 01926 331401. These appointments cannot be made online. Please find below list of some of the appointments provided by our Nursing Team
| ECG | Blood test |
| Diabetes check-up | Child Vaccinations |
| Asthma/COPD review | Adult and Travel Vaccinations |
| CHD review | Cervical screening (smear) |
| Dressings | Change my contraception |
Urgent Appointments
If you feel that your problem is urgent (but does not require immediate transfer to hospital), and you have not heard back from the Practice within 2 hours of completing your form, or your symptoms have significantly worsened since completing the form, please call our Reception Team.
The practice operates a ‘duty doctor’ system to ensure we always have adequate capacity to deal with patients who are acutely unwell and require medical attention the same day. Our triage system categorises each request by clinical need so that clinically urgent requests are prioritised quickly. Online consultation requests are for non-urgent matters only. If you believe your symptoms are life threatening, please phone 999.
Cancelling your appointment
Please call the Practice at the earliest opportunity if you no longer require your appointment. This allows us to offer it to someone else who needs it and saves valuable NHS resource. If you have received a text reminder (within 24 hours of your appointment), you can also cancel the appointment by replying CANCEL.
What else can I do online?

Start hereExtended Access
Clarendon Lodge provides Extended Access appointments in partnership with our local Primary Care Network (PCN). Extended Access appointments are available to book using the usual methods and are available in the morning from 7-8am, in the evening until 8:30pm as well as on a Saturday. Please note this service is limited, not every day, and may be provided from another location.
Think Pharmacy First
Most pharmacies can also offer prescription medicine for some conditions, without you needing to see a GP or make an appointment. This is called Pharmacy First.
Conditions they can offer prescription medicine for are:
- impetigo (aged 1 year and over)
- infected insect bites (aged 1 year and over)
- earache (aged 1 to 17 years)
- sore throat (aged 5 years and over)
- sinusitis (aged 12 years and over)
- urinary tract infections (UTIs) (women aged 16 to 64 years)
- shingles (aged 18 years and over)
If you are not within these age ranges, a pharmacist can still offer advice and support decisions about self care treatment with over the counter medicines, but you may need to see a GP for treatment.
If you go to a pharmacy with one of these conditions, the pharmacist will offer you advice, treatment or refer you to a GP or other health professional if needed. They will also update your GP health record, but your information will not be shared with anyone else.
Most pharmacies can provide prescription medicine for these conditions but contact them before visiting to check.
Home Visits
Home visits are reserved for when you are physically unable to attend the surgery. A lack of transportation or convenience is not a reason for requesting a home visit.
If you think a home visit may be needed, please call Reception to book your appointment.
Please be prepared to:
- Give brief details to our Reception Team to aid the Duty Doctor in assessing urgency.
- Discuss your request with a Clinician over the phone prior to a visit.
- Understand that a direct ambulance call may be the safest response (e.g. severe chest pain or breathlessness, sudden collapse).
